 Last Knights is a 2015 action film directed by Kazuaki Kiriya and written by Michael Konyves and Dove Sussman. The film stars Clive Owen and Morgan Freeman in the lead roles. It centers on a band of warriors who seek to avenge the loss of their master at the hands of a corrupt minister. The film was released on April 3, 2015, by Lionsgate.The story is another interpretation of the 47 Ronin tale. In a fictional medieval kingdom, Bartok watches over his estate as a vassal and Commander Raiden serves and protect Bartok. The kingdom has become corrupted and the evil minister, Geza Mott, set up Bartok for treason against the crown. Bartok was put to trial and it was there that he openly spoke his disdain for what has become of the kingdom. For his honesty, he was sentenced to death and Raiden was ordered to execute his own master. Raiden resisted the command, but Bartok encouraged his soldier to do so for the sake of their families. After Bartok was killed, Bartok’s estate was divided and Raiden and his elite team was disbanded.
