Here is a pamphlet on “Habit Training for Children.” It asks questions: “Does your child fuss about his food?” “Is your child jealous?” “Does your child have temper tantrums?” Suppose these questions had been put in the form of positive statements: “Many children fuss about their food.” “Many children are jealous.” “Many children have temper tantrums.” How mild and uninteresting!
