Mohammadreza Amozad is the head of the 28th branch of the Revolutionary Court. He issued the death sentence for Mohsen Shekari along with Mohammad Salvati, which was the first execution of the recent protests. Mr. Shekari’s death sentence was issued for “accusing Moharebeh of closing Sattar Khan Street and injuring a Basij agent.” This judge has also accused Manouchehr Mehmanawaz of being a “warrior” for setting fire to Qarchak district. One of the last sentences issued by Amouzad is the request for the death sentence for writer and illustrator Mehdi Bahman for allegedly interviewing an Israeli TV channel. Amuzadeh, along with Judge Salvati, issued the death sentence for Ruhollah Zam.
